Consumer Reinvestment Act Advocates (CRA Advocates) non-profit corporation was formed in 1996 primarily to deal with institutional lender discrimination. The main goal was to identify lenders that were not making the proper amount of loans in low income census tracts or to minority applicants.
The plan is to document why certain lenders were not complying with community reinvestment act regulations and to file complaints with banking regulators and in some instances to file lawsuits for damages.
Another CRA Advocates program is to develop and build low-income housing and to assist other low income housing producers.
The goal as of this date is to raise funds to develop the aforementioned programs and to contribute to selected charities all funds in excess of a 10% management fee and up to 20% of all income for expenses. This will leave a minimum of 70% of all income to be distributed to the following charities.
- Chabad Lubavitch of North Broward and South Palm Beach Counties located in Margate (Broward County) Florida. This is a Jewish organization and its main function is to operate a 250 student school.
- Guardian Angel Church, Brooklyn, New York. This is a Christian Group that provides services to its parishioners.
- Sean Cononies homeless mission in Broward County Florida. This is a non-profit that provides many services to homeless persons.
The directors of CRA Advocates have many years experience in dealing with the issues that are aforementioned.
We accept cash or other donations.
All funds contributed to CRA Advocates under the 501(3)C program will be tax deductible. All donations other than cash will be accepted in a manner that will allow for maximum tax deduction benefits to donors.
CRA Advocates banks at Bank of America, has produced low income housing and has contributed to charitable groups for over 6 years to those above mentioned and to other groups that need help financially.
